Hailing from St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, Thomas Moore grew up in rural Newfoundland. He went to Memorial University, graduating with an MA in English in 1977. He later completed an M.Ed. at the University of Ottawa. For the past number of years, he has been teaching and writing in the Persian Gulf. He published five books, including two national best sellers, Angels Crying (1994), which was translated into Chinese, and Goodbye Momma (1976), which was translated into Danish and Romanian. It was chosen as one of the best children's books in Canada by the Children's Book Center and the Canadian Book of Lists. CBC produced it as a radio play the following year. His story, The Sign On My Father's House was published as a winning entry in Canadian Storyteller, Toronto in the summer of 2004. His novel, The Plains of Madness won the inaugural Percy Janes First Novel Award for Best Fiction Manuscript in Newfoundland. His film script Killers, set in the Persian Gulf, describes the clash of values between two brave men from both the Muslim and Christian worlds. It won first prize for dramatic script in the 2006 Newfoundland and Labrador Arts and Letters competition. His second film script, Razor follows the story of a 17-year old girl who goes to a church to kill herself and is stopped by a man posing as the janitor. He lives in St. John's working on his new film project, A Guy a Girl a Ghost.
